I went with Year 6 to the Transport Museum on Monday. They have spent several afternoons composing electronic music and have produced some wonderful, catchy tunes. When they get back from Dol-y-Moch they have one more session and each child will have produced their own modern backing track. All they need to do is compose words to fit the music! Watch out parents! Watch out X-Factor! Later in the week our Year 6 went to the Ricoh Stadium on a Health & Fitness morning. Everyone had a great time.
Year 6 are away at Dol-y-Moch from Sunday to Thursday. We hope to have good weather. See a weather webcam here
Our boys played Woodfield School at football on Tuesday and emerged as comfortable winners. Thank you for Coach Twigg for refereeing.
On Wednesday Mr Robinson returned to duties after his paternity leave. Mr Robinson brought his lovely baby son into school at the beginning of the week. Everyone was drooling!
Our netball team played against Keresley Grange yesterday. Although they played really well, they were beaten by a team who were much more experienced! Keep trying hard.
We have had two visitors to lead assembly this week. Piers from the Jesus Centre in Coventry told us about how useful our Harvest produce was, and how it has been given to homeless or poor people who just exist in Coventry. On Friday, staff from the Herbert Art Gallery came to talk to the children about 'Art' at the Gallery.
Next week we see the first performance of our Year 5 'Peace Songs'. The children have written three songs with Matt Bramhall, a local musician, as part of the Cov Kool Kids project. The performance will now take place at 2:45pm on Wednesday 2nd December and not at 9:00am as previously advertised. The children would love to have a large audience to perform to, so please come along and support the children - everyone is invited.
This is the time when we transform our hall with a Christmassy feel as we approach our advent and Christmas activities, which I hope you can come to.
