We have had a really good week at Leigh. Talking to some of the children, the half term was an exciting and restful time for a lot of the children.
Year 3 went to the Lunt Fort on Tuesday and were a credit to themselves, school and family. The class also led a wonderful and informative assembly on Thursday. It is really rewarding to see how the confidence of the children in the class has grown. Thanks to Mr Cledwyn and Miss Rehman.
Parents may be interested in visiting the Book Fair in our school hall after school tonight or on Monday and Tuesday next week.
Our ‘High 5’ netball team played well against Grange Farm Primary School and won 2-1. Thanks to Mrs Seddon, Miss Mailer and Mrs Brook for coaching the team.
Year 5 will have a student teacher called Mr Thomas working alongside Miss Mailer for the next few weeks.
Teo Sutton and Steven Saunders represented our school at the launch of a National Eating initiative today.
Parents may have heard in the news last week that 38 schools in England have been specially selected to pioneer a new project aimed at giving 11 year olds higher aspirations than they currently have for their future in the workplace. I am very pleased to let you know that Leigh CE School is one of the 38 schools chosen to pioneer this project. More information to follow.
Year 5 are working closely with a musician allocated to us from the Warwick Arts Centre to develop a project called Cov Kool Kids. Parents are invited to the performance on 2nd December (am performance –time to be verified).
Year 5 are also leading assembly on Thursday 12th November at 9:00am – everyone welcome.
Our PTA are busy preparing for our Christmas Family Disco to be held at school on 11th December from 7pm. It is a family occasion and all are welcome to purchase tickets.
To help raise money towards the Remembrance Sunday cause, Help the Heroes, we will be having a non-uniform day on Friday 13th November. If you would like to support this cause please send a donation in with your child and they can wear non-uniform for this day.
Have a safe weekend if you are having or going to a Bonfire Party.
