We have had another very busy week at Leigh. Last night we were very pleased to receive a prize from Coventry City Council’s Anti-Bullying Strategy department for our whole school contribution to promoting peace and reconciliation, including our Anti-Bullying work. The children now have £50 to spend on areas of school life that they think need supporting. Our School Council will be consulting with their classmates.

We had a brilliant ‘Book Day’ on Wednesday and the children have produced some amazing work. Thank you to Mrs Knibb and Year 6 for starting the day off in tremendous style. Thank you to everyone who made an effort, there were some fantastic costumes.

It was good to see Rev’d Steve Burch lead assembly this week.

We had special visitors from Longford Primary School today. They performed some fantastic musical pieces for us. Their tutor then stayed on to work with our Year 5 children on an extension of the Cov Kool Kids project. The ‘Peace Songs’ that they have composed will be performed to parents on Wednesday 2nd December at 9:00am. I do hope that you can come along and hear their work. It could have the X-Factor!

Tomorrow, weather permitting, our boys are competing in the Coventry Schools Cross Country Championships.

We have now finalised our dates for school activities before Christmas. Please put them onto your calendar or diary. Please note that Year 4 WILL NOT be leading assembly on Thursday 26th and that Year 6 WILL NOT be leading assembly on 17th December, new dates will be arranged in 2010.
