A strange, short week at Leigh CE Primary School has ended.  Having two days out can be unsettling for both staff and children.

During the week our Year 6 have been able to come into school to have breakfast together as they prepare for their SATs tests next week.  After great deliberation the children in Year 6 at Leigh will sit the tests in the normal way for one more year.  I really hope that our ‘new’ government, whoever it may be, will take a serious look at the whole issue of whether the tests for 11 year olds in their current form are still viable and cost effective.

Our younger boys football team played against Limbrick Wood and won 4-2.  Some great football was played.  Well done lads!

Year 4 have continued their swimming lessons.

Next Thursday 13th May, we will all be going to St James Church in Tile Hill Lane for our Ascension Day Service.  All parents and relatives of the children are invited to join us at our service which starts at 2pm.  Parents attending can collect their child/ren from St James as the service finishes at approximately 2:40pm.  Otherwise all children will return to school and leave at the normal time.
