I went with Year 6 to the Transport Museum on Monday. They have spent several afternoons composing electronic music and have produced some wonderful, catchy tunes. When they get back from Dol-y-Moch they have one more session and each child will have produced their own modern backing track. All they need to do is compose words to fit the music! Watch out parents! Watch out X-Factor! Later in the week our Year 6 went to the Ricoh Stadium on a Health & Fitness morning. Everyone had a great time.

Welcome to the new Leigh website!

If you have just read this week's newsletter and are here at this site because of it - let us tell you how it all works. It is not like any other school website because it has been written based on the blogging idea. That means all new pages are called posts which are found straight away on the front page and not tucked away where you cannot see them. For example, there are five posts on the front page, but the site has thirty nine posts in total.

So, the best way to have a look around is by clicking on the index pages or even just using the Google search box. For example, a search for 'Yazoo' will find the page about Healthy Tuck and it's price list.

There are two help videos to watch - one about the new online calendar and another about feeding the fish and naming the hamster (see help from the index).

You can click on the slideshow to see some photos of the school. If you are looking for something more formal, then read the School Prospectus. From the links menu, you will find Virtual Learning where the Moodledo site can be found.

At the very bottom of the main page find a large calendar and a tag cloud which gives you a snapshot of the whole site in word frequency. If you get stuck, just click the main Leigh banner at the top of any page that will send you straight back to the beginning.

And finally, as this site is a conversation - any page allows you to add your own comments. So, if you like something, then tell us - if you don't, they tell us anyway and we can put it right. If you prefer email us at: info@leighcofeprimary.com

Our aim is to provide all your questions answered by making Leigh CE Primary School an explosion of the local Community where it is searchable, clickable and linkable. Good Luck!

We have had another very busy week at Leigh. Last night we were very pleased to receive a prize from Coventry City Council’s Anti-Bullying Strategy department for our whole school contribution to promoting peace and reconciliation, including our Anti-Bullying work. The children now have £50 to spend on areas of school life that they think need supporting. Our School Council will be consulting with their classmates.

What a packed week of different activities at Leigh! Our Year 6 had a brilliant first lesson on producing electronic music at Coventry Transport Museum. We are really looking forward to hearing the finished piece.

Year 5 have continued their Cov Kool Kids project and have written 2 songs about Peace and Reconciliation which they are performing in December. Year 5's swimming is also progressing very well. It was good to see so many friends and parents supporting their assembly on Thursday. Everyone was very proud of them.

We have had a really good week at Leigh. Talking to some of the children, the half term was an exciting and restful time for a lot of the children.

Year 3 went to the Lunt Fort on Tuesday and were a credit to themselves, school and family. The class also led a wonderful and informative assembly on Thursday. It is really rewarding to see how the confidence of the children in the class has grown. Thanks to Mr Cledwyn and Miss Rehman.
